It was satisfying to produce this flyer to promote a place I am very fond of.

I spent too long on this exercise, but I feel it was worthwhile as it forced me to play around with and get more familiar with the pen tool and text on a path which I'm sure will come in handy!

It may look pretty basic but it actually took me hours of experimenting to get to this point!!!!
Exploring the swatches for the pattern effects was fun but I had a frustrating time sorting out the paths in the roads layer.

Photo word composition - this activity helped me to look at the things around me in a different way...........

Hi all, 

my subject for today is 'inspiration'............................
I only have to open my eyes and look to find inspiration these days as I see so many wonderful examples of good art and design all around me expressed in  different forms, and I am amazed by the explosion of creativity.  
But  on a personal level my children inspire me on a daily basis; as does music; and nature: a sunny day, the ocean, the trees, these things I am drawn to for inspiration and purpose.  
Two inspiring websites I am familiar with are 'Red Bubble' and 'Deviant Art', which are full of talented people's art.
I'll upload 2 of my daughters portraits, to add some colour, with my other kids to follow another day.............

LA03 Positive and Negative Form.

Hi all,
...........computers, you've gotta love 'em........?
I've been a little slow to post lately as I've been distracted by the challenge of backing up thousands of my photos off my mac to an external hard drive,( I intend to wipe and re-install all my software in the hope that it will function more efficiently) 
This process has been taking up many hours of my time but has been a learning experience! 
Unfortunately my workflow hasn't been what it should've been the last couple of years and my hard drive was getting a little full!!!  So now I (hopefully) know better I will soon begin again with a smoother and slightly more organized approach!!
But for today,  my task is to add the typographic portraits assignment and the black square assignment..............................

Hi again, scanners are a tool I've never really used a whole lot before but this exercise got me thinking about what possibilities there are using a scanner to create an image.  Lots.  Not only did we have to think about the subject matter but how we could lay it out to satisfy the practicalities and also so the eye could flow around the image. 
P.S.  The content was based on a story not on real life. :-)

While flicking throught the tv channels the other night I watched an interview with a scientist talking about the evidence that proves humans are influencing climate change and that we need to act, and act now.  How irresponsible and selfish for us to do............ nothing!  How unnfair is that to our children and their children?  What sort of a world do we want them to inherit?  Why does the media continually inundate us with trivial dribble instead of meaningful content?  Shouldn't we try to harness the power of the media to help make the world a better place now and in the future?
